As part of the brand new and “Upgraded” CT I thought it would be fitting to feature something that I love, YOU TUBE! And who better to feature as the launch post? then my new Bestie - the superstar ANNE HIRSCH.
For those who don’t know Anne Hirsch is known for her massively popular You Tube channel THE ANNE HIRSCH SHOW, where she interview’s local South African celebrities in an authentic and creative format fit for her personality and it’s the reason why it’s gained fans from across the world . Most recently Anne earned herself the opportunity to co-host the first season of The Great South African Bake Off alongside stand up comedian Donovan Goliath.
On its 4th season, The Anne Hirsch Show is bigger, better and full of celebrities. This week I got to watch the first episode of the season, and I loved it .The episode features Top Billing and Afternoon Express presenter Jeannie D and is a whole lot of fun. Go check out the Anne Hirsch Show on YouTube and SUBSCRIBE because you won’t get enough of it. The Great South African Bake off airs on Tuesday nights on BBC lifestyle [DSTV channel 174] at 20:00. And new episodes of the Anne Show are uploaded on Wednesdays.
Anne took time out of her busy schedule to answer some questions about The Anne Hirsch Show and The Great South African Bake Off.
1.One word that best describes you Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious
2. What made you want to start a you tube channel ? Friends of mine at Zootee Studios (they produce the show) phoned and said, ‘lets make a show’. I’ve always been interested in celebrities and society’s (and my own) obsession with them, so it seemed natural to do a (s)talk show. And it seemed like a good excuse to hug famous people.
3. What can fANNEs expect from the new season of the Anne Hirsch Show ? We’ve always shot the show in a studio and this season we decided it would be great to go out and do activities with guests. We saved up lots of money to make a new fancy set, but then we spent that money on sweets, so our set this time around is in the boot of a car.
4. So tell us who are some of your new besties joining you on the show We’ve got a great line-up this season, but I can’t reveal too much (mostly because I haven’t booked all the guests yet) but a lot of people have asked to see Suzelle DIY! I’ve never heard of him, but he’ll be on the show very soon!
5. Great South African Bake off is were people can find you other than on you tube , how is the experience working on such a big production ? It’s awesome. With Rapid Blue as the production company and BBC as the channel, you can’t really go wrong. It’s been a great experience and I’ve learnt so much. But it’s also just been lots of fun because, free food!
6.What do you think the show has that is different ? I think the show is just really warm and fuzzy, which is a welcome change from most reality shows. Baking somehow brings out the nice side of people. Always, there is a great South African flavour to it.
7. Tell us about some of your awards ? LOL, you really don’t want me to sound humble. I’ve gotten some really cool awards and accolades but they’re all mostly thanks to a great team behind me. Oh blah blah, I love my awards and polish them every night J
